Taking God at His word

What We Believe About the Bible & Why

The Main Idea of This Teaching Series

The Bible is an eternally important book, but a lot of people know very little about what it teaches. Further, even among those who may know the stories and content within the Bible, very few are able to explain what the Bible teaches about itself. Therefore, in this series, The Good Book, we hope to help our students understand the basic things the Bible teaches about itself.

The Purpose of This Teaching Series

The purpose of this series is to teach our students the basic doctrines concerning the Word of God in hopes that they grow in their knowledge, love, dependence, and confidence in it.

The Teaching Objectives: The teaching objectives for this series are as follows:

  • The five essential characteristics of the Word of God (NICSA) and what they practically mean for our lives.

Heart (Affections): We want our students to feel…

  • Confidence in the Bible’s trustworthiness and message.
  • Love & thankfulness to God that He would give us His Word.
  • Great Value for the Bible.

Hands (Practices): We hope this series…

  • Equips the students to give an answer for the reliability of the Bible.
