IMG_7743Hi! I’m Lauren and I am the Assistant to Youth.  I was born and bred in Southern California (who would complain?) and grew up in San Clemente, CA.  I graduated from Dana Hills High School in 2006, and then in 2011, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing.  I am now married to my husband Mike, and we have a cute son named Cru!  I enjoy surfing, hot yoga, iced tea and food!

Hello! My name is Steven! I am the music pastor at The Ride and Core. I grew up in Orange County. I married my best friend, Lauren Shaw. We live in Dana Point. I own my own business, it’s called Fitcore, Health and fitness type stuff. I love leading music at South Shores. My wife and I lead at Remix (The 4th sunday service). If you’d like to check our music out, click here. I love leading the singing with the youth because I have a passion to help kids grow in Christ. Teaching my music team what it means to worship our Lord in music and teaching the kids threw song the greatness of God excites me greatly. It’s an honor to be along side such a great group of leaders. Dana is one of my best friends and our passion is the same: to Glorify Christ in all we do. I pray we do it faithfully and help these youngsters grow with wisdom of our wonderful God. Thank You Jesus for all You have done for us!

IMG_0143Hi! My name is Hannah Hartman. I am currently a third year at Cal State Long Beach where I am studying International Business. I live with my parents in Dana Point, but not for long as I recently got married to Nathan Dillon, whom I have been dating for over 5 years! I am so excited! I have had the opportunity to attend South Shores Church for as long as I can remember (17 years to be exact). South Shores has been a second home to me and I have met some of my closest friends within the church family. This year is my 6th year working with students at Core. I love serving at Core for the sole purpose of ministering to the students. Having the opportunity to give God the glory through teaching and answering questions about Him is a blessing. God gave us a voice to minister to all ages and I am so happy to have the chance to do just that!

IMG_7742Hello there…I’m Kate! I currently go to Saddleback College and have been a resident of Dana Point for my whole life. I enjoy spending time at local coffee shops like J.C. Beans for a bible study, to do schoolwork, or to just chat with friends, as well as listening to awesome Christian bands like Page CXVI and Sojourn. I love being apart of C0re because it gives me an opportunity to counsel other students in their walk with Christ, as well as to educate them about the love of Christ so that they may become servants of the One and True King.

IMG_7748Hey there! I’m Sarah Stanley, the 11th grade girls leader!  Christ, coffee, and company are the three words that summarize me.  Needless to say, if you’re looking for me, you can find me at a coffee shop sipping’ on some joe, in the company of the church or a book, reading, talking and learning about Christ.  What I’m so excited about for this upcoming year at Core is being a high school leader for the first time!  After three years at The Ride, middle school ministry, I’m anxious to see how the girls grow in the high school ministry.  As I look back to when I was in high school, specifically Core, I remember growing immensely in Christ and having leaders that spurred and encouraged me to love Christ and love others.  I’m so excited to be on the other end this time. To see high schoolers grow immensely and be a leader that spurs and encourages the students to love Christ and love others.

IMG_7746Hi friends! I’m Katie and I’m a full time children’s ministry staff member here at South Shores. I’m a kid lover and have a passion for working with families and helping bring Jesus into the home. I’m an avid tennis watcher and love to play when I have the time. I’m new to youth ministry and am so excited to see what God is going to do in the lives of my small group!

Thanks for checking out my leader description! My name is Matt and I am one of the 10th grade guy leaders. A fun fact about me is that I pride myself in being a home barista. I love to make coffee for myself and family through unique brewing systems. My favorite so far is the French Press. But coffee aside, I love Jesus Christ. I became a Christian when I was a freshman in high school and quickly found myself being discipled by members of South Shores Church. After a couple years, I became a member of South Shores and became a leader of group of awesome 6th grade guys. I have been a leader for about three years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. My desire is to come alongside of the 9th grade guy parents and help them teach their young men about who Jesus is and what he has done for us. I hope to meet you soon!

Hey Mike Perez here and I work with the Senior guys in the CORE.  I love working with these young men as they slowly transform into men of God.I have been a Christian for over 34 years and a lot of my growth has come from other men of God who went before me and helped me to grow in Christ.  That is what has always  motivated me to work with younger men, to show them who Jesus is.  I have been married for almost 18 years to Becky Perez and together we have 2 awesome daughters (Sophia, 15 and Isabella 13) who are a part of the Youth Group here at South Shores.  I went to Azusa Pacific University and majored in Youth Education.  Yes I wanted to be a Youth Pastor for many years but the Lord never really opened that door as a full time ministry so I then went into sales!  Which is where all want to be youth pastors go to die!!!  Hey we are still good with people, right?  So I have been in mortgage and real-estate sales for over 17 yrs. I look forward to being a part of this awesome ministry for years to come, God willing!!

IMG_7750Hello my name is Adam Mendez I’m a college student and I’m one of the worship leaders at The Ride. I help serve on Wednesday nights through playing music and singing as we lead the kiddos in songs to the Lord. I became a Christian about two years ago by seeing how nasty my heart is and experiencing God’s love for me through the cross of Jesus Christ. I wished that I had Core when I was growing up in high school because I see how much the kids are growing. I am even growing from Core! I love hanging out with the kids on Wednesday nights!
